At the core of recovery, just as at the core of Christianity, exists a foundation of relationships upon which freedom is built. In recovery, freedom is found by entering into and building relationship with God, self and others. We believe that true freedom and true recovery are found in relationship with our Higher Power, Jesus Christ. Thus, we have come to understand that the heart of healthy living centers upon, and is grounded in, healthy relationships.
This blog, this amalgamation of thoughts and ideas composed by many and compiled into one place, allows people at different stages and phases of recovery to interact with one another. Contributors have lived with or continue to struggle with addiction as it relates to themselves or someone in their lives. Chances are good that everyone is affected in some way by the addictions and compulsive behaviors of those around them. Join us in this journey toward recovery by commenting, posting or sharing. Enter into relationship with us, and learn for yourself what a difference healthy relationships can make in your life.
God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.Amen. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr
